Police arrested a 30-year-old man yesterday as part of an investigation into illegal employment and illegal residence in the Republic of Cyprus.
According to the evidence under review, police officers went to a barbershop yesterday morning to investigate a tip regarding illegal employment.
The 30-year-old man was found at the premises working illegally, and subsequent investigations revealed that he was residing illegally in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus.
During his arrest for offenses committed in the act, the 30-year-old pushed the police officers and fled the premises, attempting to escape.
He was apprehended a short distance away, and during his arrest, he attacked the police officers, striking and biting them, resulting in two police officers being injured and transported to Nicosia General Hospital for examination.
It was determined that one officer suffered a hematoma and an eye injury, while the second sustained a dislocated shoulder. The Nicosia Central Police Station is continuing its investigation.
