Real Madrid to be without Valverde for some time – Anxiety over his medical exams

Fede Valverde is expected to be sidelined for several weeks after suffering an ankle injury in yesterday's derby between Real Madrid and Atlético at the "Metropolitano" (2-1).

The Uruguayan midfielder suffered a serious injury to his left ankle after a tackle by Lee Kang-in, who was shown only a yellow (and not a red) card.

He will undergo tests today, and the exact severity of the injury will be determined, but initial reports suggest he will be sidelined for several weeks.

Real Madrid, which will face AEK in Nea Filadelfia for the Champions League on November 4, returns to action after the break by hosting Villarreal on October 10.
