Deep mourning for the death of 16-year-old Giorgos Hatzioannou, from Agia Marina, who lost his life in a fatal car accident that occurred on Sunday afternoon in Argaka.
The funeral service for the 16-year-old will be held at the Holy Church of Agia Marina in Agia Marina, Chrysochous, on Tuesday, September 22, at 3:00 p.m.
The family requests that, in lieu of wreaths, donations be made to support the family. Students attending the funeral are also asked to wear white shirts.
Based on the testimony gathered by the police so far, the 16-year-old was reportedly wearing a racing suit while riding the motorcycle, though it has not yet been confirmed whether he was also wearing the helmet found at the scene of the crash.
The 16-year-old, under circumstances that are under investigation, reportedly lost control of the motorcycle on Archbishop Makarios III Avenue in Argaka, causing him to strike the left sidewalk and subsequently overturn. He was transported by ambulance to Polis Chrysochous Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The news of the 16-year-old’s death has caused widespread grief, with the EDON Central Council expressing deep sorrow over his passing.
