We’ve entered a break for the national team games. In Akis Mantzou’s call-ups for the Cyprus national team, we see the names of Marcus Edwards and Nick Tsaroulla for the first time. In fact, the Cyprus Football Association (CFA) had been courting the former for some time, and the player finally gave his approval.
Beyond that, last weekend we had players who stood out. In Bulgaria, Ioannis Pittas was the one who secured a point for CSKA Sofia at Lokomotiv Plovdiv’s home stadium, scoring with a powerful header in the 18th minute. In fact, this was his 8th goal across all competitions this season.
Watch the goal at 2:46.
In Serbia, Loizos Loizou is in tremendous form. Midweek, playing for Železnicar Pančevo, he scored the winning goal for Red Star (2-1 on the road) with a flawless finish, while against Radnički Niš, he set up Marko Arnautović for the first of his team’s three goals in the 3-0 victory.

Watch the assist against Radnički at 3:25.
In Armenia, Iasonas Pikis (center photo) put in a stellar performance for Pyunik. The Cypriot forward scored twice against Alashkert in a 3-3 away draw, opening the scoring and equalizing late in the game to set the final score.
Watch the first goal at 0:26 and the second at 9:36.
