What did the autopsy reveal about the body?
ALPHANEWSLIVE

The mistake made by 16-year-old Giorgos Hatzioannou—wearing his helmet but failing to fasten it— appears to have been fatal, as his impact with the asphalt and an EAC utility pole on a downhill road in Argaka was what cost him his life.

According to Alpha’s correspondent in Paphos, Kostas Nanos, based on the testimonies the police have gathered so far, the minor was reportedly wearing a racing suit while riding the motorcycle prior to the fatal accident, but although he was wearing a helmet, it was not fastened.

Authorities are investigating reports that the 16-year-old was not alone, but was accompanied by two friends who were riding on a motorcycle ahead of him.

Among other things, police are closely examining the fact that the motorcycle the 16-year-old was riding was unregistered, a detail being examined as part of the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident. Such motorcycles are prohibited from being driven on public roads, except on specially designed motocross tracks.

The 16-year-old, under circumstances that are under investigation, is reported to have, on Sunday afternoon, while driving, have lost control of his motorcycle on Archbishop Makarios III Avenue in Argaka, causing him to strike the left sidewalk and then overturn. He then crashed violently into an EAC utility pole, where he sustained fatal injuries. He was transported by ambulance to Polis Chrysochous Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

At the same time, the Argaka area and, more broadly, the Paphos district have seen fatal traffic accidents in the past involving young people riding motorcycles, a fact that brings concerns about the road safety of young drivers back into the spotlight.

At the same time, the forensic examination of the body of the unfortunate George also revealed the severity of the collision. Specifically, it was determined that the minor’s death was caused by a severe traumatic brain injury and multiple injuries to his body and vital organs.
