Nicolas Batum has announced the end of his illustrious career!
At 37, the veteran French basketball player announced that he is hanging up his sneakers and retiring from active play, in a video he posted on social media while at the gym where he took his first steps in basketball, with his son by his side.
Batum began his professional career in Pont-l’Évêque, Caen, and Le Mans, and in 2008 he moved to the U.S. to play in the NBA for the Portland Trail Blazers. He then played in the world’s top basketball league for 18 seasons, appearing in a total of 1,281 games, and also wore the jerseys of the Hornets, the Clippers, and the 76ers!
At the same time, he was a key player for the French national team, with which he played in 177 games and won a total of 7 medals at EuroBasket, World Cups, and the Olympic Games!
