Another body recovered from the Kyrenia shipwreck has been identified

The number of missing persons stands at 13

The body found Saturday in the sunken Filo Jet catamaran belongs to 26-year-old Mehmet Bayhan.

This was announced in writing yesterday by “Prime Minister” Ünal Ustel following the results of DNA tests. Turkish Cypriot websites reported that the name was made public without first informing the missing boy’s relatives, a claim that the “Prime Minister’s Office” in a statement issued later yesterday.

The death toll from the shipwreck has risen to 15, and the number of missing to 13. Mehmet Bayhan’s father recently stated that he knows his son is dead, but wants his body so he can bury him.
