Razvan Lucescu gave an interview to a Romanian media outlet regarding his time at PAOK. The 57-year-old Al-Sadd coach, after discussing his decision to continue his career in Qatar, spoke about PAOK and the moments he experienced at Toumba Stadium, while emphasizing that he prefers to focus on the positives rather than the recent negative moments.
In detail:
“For me, it’s been a wonderful chapter in my life—seven years in Thessaloniki. It’s over; life goes on. They’ll move forward on their path as best they can, and I have to move forward on mine. But I’ll always be part of PAOK’s history through what we achieved, just as I’m part of the history of Al-Hilal, Rapid, or Brașov.
I suffered a lot; I had grown very attached to PAOK, but everything in life comes to an end—and even more so in soccer. When there’s a parting of ways, after such a long time during which we were together and fought together, it’s natural to feel remorse and disappointment. You never see a love story end with joy or excitement.
It’s our duty to hold on to all the beautiful moments and forget this last, ugly part. Whether they like it or not, I am a coach who is part of PAOK’s history, and no one can take that away from me.”
