The Hellenic Meteorological Service has released the names of the weather systems expected to cause very severe weather events during the 2026–2027 period.
It should be noted that on October 1, 2021, the trilateral national collaboration between Greece, Cyprus, and Israel launched a process to name weather systems expected to cause very severe phenomena and to affect the Eastern Mediterranean during both the cold and warmseasons of the year.
For the period October 2026–September 2027, the list of names that were selected and will be used in alphabetical order was jointly compiled by the three National Meteorological Services, reflecting the linguistic conventions of their respective countries using the Latin alphabet, and are as follows:
Argos, Bar, Chabrias, Dorothea, Eitan, Filippa, Glafkos, Hadar, Ikaros, Jason, Kedem, Laskarina, Morfeas, Nadia, Odysseas, Persefoni, Roxani, Sisyfos, Tamar, Uranos, Vergina, Wasim, Xanthe, Ypnos
