Professor Elizabeth Johnson, who currently serves as Senior Advisor to the European University of Cyprus in the fields of Medical Sciences and Health and Life Sciences and previously served as Dean of the School of Medicine, was honored with the 2026 (3rd) IETI George Perry Award for Health and Neurosciences, in recognition of her significant scientific and academic contributions to the fields of Health and Neurosciences.
The award is presented by the International Engineering and Technology Institute (IETI) and recognizes Professor Johnson’s contributions to functional neuroanatomy and neuroendocrinology. Special mention is made of her research on the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, stress mechanisms, and neuroendocrine regulation.

Brief Biography
Dr. Elizabeth Johnson is a Professor of Anatomy and former Dean of the School of Medicine at the European University of Cyprus. She currently serves as a Senior Advisor to the European University of Cyprus in the fields of Medical Sciences and Health and Life Sciences.
Her research focuses on neuroscience, specifically chemical, molecular, and functional neuroanatomy, neuroendocrinology, and stress mechanisms. In the past, she served as Professor of Anatomy at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Associate Professor of Anatomy, Histology, and Embryology at the University of Ioannina, and a researcher at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the United States.
