Father Antonios Markou revealed an unexpected encounter that turned into a lengthy personal conversation, as he spoke about his meeting with Giorgos Mazonakis.
As a guest on Petros Kousoulou’s show “Apokalypsis,” the priest looked back in time and described how he first came into contact with the well-known singer. It all happened during a flight to Athens, when Giorgos Mazonakis recognized Father Antonios among the passengers.

Their encounter was not limited to a brief conversation. The singer wanted to speak with him, and, as the priest recounted, a confession ensued that lasted about 90 minutes.
Through this conversation, Father Antonios got to know a different side of Giorgos Mazonakis, far removed from his public image and stage persona. He described him as a man of great emotional sensitivity, who needed to express what he was carrying inside.
