Barcelona is on the move again!
As originally planned, the “Blaugrana” will have to temporarily leave their home stadium once again while the complete renovation of Camp Nou is completed.
In fact, as revealed at the General Assembly that took place, the timeline was announced, with the club’s vice president, Ferran Olive, revealing that Barcelona will finish this season playing at its home stadium, but will need to… relocate for the first half of the 2027–28 season, when renovation work on its historic stadium will be completed, with the most significant addition being the new roof.
At the same time, the new loan of 510 million euros that Barcelona will need to take out was also approved, bringing the Catalan club’s total debt to 2.6 billion euros, depending on the repayment dates and the corresponding interest.
Thus, Barcelona is expected to play its home games during the first half of next season at the “Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys” in Montjuïc, before returning to the now-completed new “Camp Nou,” which will also host the Champions League final in 2029!
