The weather through Friday
ALPHANEWSLIVE

A weak low-pressure system is affecting the region.

Today, the weather will start out mostly clear, although there will be periods of increased cloud cover, especially along the western coast. In the afternoon, locally increased cloud cover is expected to bring isolated showers or even brief thunderstorms in the mountainous areas and the eastern half of the island. Winds will blow mainly from the southwest to northwest, initially light at force 3, soon becoming light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and locally along the southern coast in the afternoon, they will reach strong levels, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough. Temperatures will rise to around 34 degrees inland, around 30 on the western coast, around 32 on the rest of the coast, and around 24 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.

Tonight, the weather will gradually become mostly clear; however, increased cloud cover will develop, mainly in the west and north. Winds will be mainly westerly to northwesterly, light and occasionally moderate, 3 to 4 on the Beaufort scale. The sea will be slightly rough. Temperatures will drop to around 19 degrees inland, around 21 degrees along the coast, and around 14 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.

On Thursday, increased cloud cover in some areas after noon is expected to bring isolated showers or even thunderstorms, mainly in the mountains and in the eastern half of the country. On Friday, the weather will be mostly clear. On Saturday, there will be increased high cloud cover.

Temperatures will gradually drop slightly, settling near average seasonal levels.
