Panathinaikos and Paris will face off in the EuroLeague opener at the Telekom Center Athens (September 24, 9:30 p.m.). The “Greens” will kick off the top European competition in front of their home crowd, with the goal, of course, of getting off to a strong start in this “marathon.”
At the “Greens’” media day ahead of the match against the French team, following Zeljko Obradović, Isaac Bonga spoke, emphasizing just how important this opener is. At the same time, he expressed his optimism that the “clover” can go all the way… to the end of the road
Specifically, he stated: “We have clear goals. Personally, I don’t want to look too far into the future, but I’m confident that we have a chance to win the trophy. I don’t know what the future holds. I think it’s very positive that we’re playing these games at home, because we have these fans who give us energy. It’s basically an extra boost of energy to play in a stadium like this. So I think it’s a positive that we’ll be playing these games here.”
The German star then spoke about the matchup against Paris, emphasizing that it will be a good game, but that Panathinaikos must match the French team’s energy:
“It’ll be a good test, a good first game. They play fast and take a lot of shots. We have to match their energy, but at the same time play our own game,” he clarified.
