A flight bound for Larnaca was forced to return to Edinburgh Airport, about 30 minutes after takeoff, due to an incident involving a “disruptive passenger” who caused a disturbance on board.
According to a report in the Daily Record, the flight was en route from Edinburgh to Larnaca when the decision was made to return to Scotland due to the incident.
The aircraft landed safely at Edinburgh Airport, where emergency services were waiting. After landing, the passenger was removed from the aircraft by police officers.
Police Scotland confirmed that a 32-year-old man was arrested and charged with various offenses, including assault and endangering an aircraft.

A passenger on the plane described the tense moments to the Daily Record, noting that they had been in the air for about half an hour when the man began causing a disturbance. As he reported, crew members were also subjected to verbal abuse.
The aircraft then returned to Edinburgh, with the same passenger describing the landing as particularly abrupt and “very turbulent.”
Footage taken on board the aircraft after it landed shows emergency services responding to the incident. Fire trucks and airport personnel can be seen at the scene, while several police officers are shown escorting a person off the aircraft and into a vehicle.
The flight returned safely to Edinburgh, and the incident is being investigated by the relevant authorities.
