Details have emerged regarding Lionel Messi’s historic farewell with the Argentine national team in the friendly against Benin (October 6) at Monumental.
The GOAT is expected to arrive in his homeland in early October to play one last time for the national team, while tickets, which go on sale Friday (September 25), are expected to sell out in… seconds.
However, the match against Benin won’t be the only highlight of the evening, as Argentina is preparing a grand tribute to Messi. Specifically, there will be a giant flag and banner for him at the stadium, special videos, the presence of distinguished guests, as well as a series of events and tributes before the game.
In fact, after the match ends, the Argentine delegation will try to hand Messi a microphone so he can address the crowd—provided, of course, that he feels emotionally ready to speak.
Everything seems to indicate, then, that on October 6, a special chapter in Argentina’s history is set to be written, with the Monumental preparing to bid farewell to the player who brought the people of Argentina out into the streets with his tremendous successes…
