Panathinaikos got off to a strong start in the EuroLeague and the season, Obradović, as the team’s quality and the electric atmosphere at the Telekom Center Athens led to a 91-72 victory over Paris in the EuroLeague’s opening game.
After the game, the Serbian head coach of the Greens initially expressed his delight with the team’s performance and, by extension, with his players’ effort, he acknowledged that there were moments when the Greens made mistakes, and he concluded with a positive assessment of the game.
Here is what he told Euroleague TV in detail:
“I feel good about the win. I want to congratulate the players; I’m pleased. We played with determination and energy. There were moments when we didn’t play well—we made mistakes—but overall I’m pleased with the way we played
. I’m pleased with the performance of those who came off the bench. And those who started played well. We dominated the boards. Paris likes to run the floor, look for the first option, and make a lot of drives to the basket. We were ready, and we played a very good game.”
