In no time at all, tickets for Lionel Messi’s final match with Argentina—on October 6 against Benin—sold out.
It took less than two hours for the 85,000 tickets put on sale for the match at “Monumental” in Buenos Aires to go, even though the prices were quite high relative to wages in Argentina.
The cheapest ticket cost 51 euros, while on resale platforms, prices for good seats exceeded 2,000 euros.
At the stadium, there will be a giant flag and a banner in his honor, special videos, the presence of distinguished guests, as well as a series of events and tributes before the game.
In fact, after the match ends, the Argentine delegation will try to hand Messi a microphone so he can address the crowd—provided, of course, that he feels emotionally ready to speak.
This will be “Leo’s” 208th appearance for the national team, for which he has scored 125 goals. With Argentina, he won the World Cup in 2022, two Copa América titles, and the Finalissima, as well as a gold medal at the 2008 Olympic Games.
