Financial disputes appear to be the cause of the incident that took place outside an elementary school in the Paphos district, involving a 45-year-old teacher and a 40-year-old woman.
As reported by Costas Nanos on the Alpha Kalimera show, the incident took place at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday—during school hours—with the two women having arranged to meet to resolve their differences.
The two women got into an argument, after which the 40-year-old allegedly struck the teacher in the face. The 45-year-old then fell to the ground, and the 40-year-old kicked her and broke her prescription glasses.
The teacher was taken to the hospital, where she underwent a series of examinations. As determined by the on-duty physician, she had bruises and abrasions on various parts of her body.
Meanwhile, according to information being investigated by the police, the two women reportedly had a financial dispute over various items that the teacher had purchased from the 40-year-old’s business, and the two of them metoutside the school to discuss and resolve their dispute.
The 40-year-old was arrested and is expected to be brought before a court to face charges of assault resulting in actual bodily injury and malicious damage. She is expected to be charged in writing and later summoned to appear in court.
