The British Mercedes driver was a joy to watch and truly… flew around the Baku City Circuit , resulting in him clinching his fifth pole position of the season in the most emphatic fashion, shattering all records!
The 28-year-old driver for the German giant capitalized on the accident involving his teammate and championship leader, Kimi Antonelli, to top the qualifying session in Baku… unchallenged! Specifically, Russell will start tomorrow’s Grand Prix from pole position after setting the fastest lap today with a time of 1:42.526, leaving Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc in second place, +0.837 seconds behind!
