Christos Tzolis spoke at the Greek national team’s press conference at the WWK Arena in Augsburg, ahead of the match against Germany for the second matchday of the Nations League (September 27, 9:45 p.m.), discussing the national team’s offensive play, the missed opportunities against Serbia, as well as the team’s quality and progress.
First, the international forward commented on Jürgen Klopp’s remarks regarding the national team’s attacking quality, emphasizing that the game isn’t decided solely in the final third of the field.

“What the opposing coach said is certainly true, but I don’t want to focus solely on the attack. The attack starts from the back, with the build-up and the team’s overall play. We have to finish our plays properly,” he said.
As for whether there was any anxiety before the match against Serbia, Jolis made it clear that the team approached the game with the goal of showcasing its own style of play, while emphasizing the missed opportunities.

At the same time, we need to stay very focused on our defense.”
On the quality of the national team: “There’s definitely a lot of quality on the national team, and we’ve been playing together for several years. That helps us, just as our collaboration with the coach does, because we know what we need to do on the field. All of this improves over time. We’re in a phase where we’re evolving, and we want to show that on the field as well.”
