The countdown has begun for Apollon’s return to action, with the “Blues” returning to training today, having had a much-needed breather during the break in the Cyprus League by Stoiximan due to national team commitments.
The Limassol-based team remains undefeated through the first four matchdays, having earned six points with one win and three draws. Their start included matches against teams with high aspirations, a fact that makes the unbeaten streak they’ve “built” so far even more significant.
Now, however, the schedule is changing, and with it, the demands are shifting. After the resumption, Apollon will face Krasava ENY on the road, Nea Salamina at home, and Karmiotissa on the road, in that order. Three matches of different character, in which the “Blues” are called upon to demonstrate the same consistency and continue their unbeaten run.
As for team news, Hernán Lozada will not have all his players available from the first training session, as Malekkidis, Siikkis, and Konomis are absent due to their national team commitments.
However, with the resumption of competitive action, Liubich, Gaspar, Ozbolt, and Brown are expected to return to the Argentine coach’s roster. These returns expand the Argentine coach’s options and add greater depth to the roster, ahead of a series of matches in which Apollon aims to build on its positive start.
