The press officer for Nea Salamina, Loizos Moisou, discussing all the latest news regarding the Famagusta-based team.
The press officer for the “Red-and-Whites” discussed Giorgos Viktoros’s transfer to Omonia, the possibility of a new signing, and the friendly matches the team is playing during the break. He also spoke about Nea Salamina’s upcoming matches against APOEL and APEA.
Here is what he said in detail:
On the death of Dimitris Palalas: “It is a tremendous loss for sports. Our sincere condolences.”
On Giorgos Viktoros’s transfer to Omonia: “The reasoning is simple. There were discussions between the two sides. The player wanted to continue his career there. We thank him for his time at Nea Salamina. He is a player with tremendous potential; he has proven it. His call-up to the U-21 National Team is indicative of his potential.”
Regarding whether there will be any new moves following Viktoros’s departure: “The team has the quality to fill the void left by Viktoros; there are two days left to sign free agents or players on loan. We don’t expect any moves, but anything could happen.”
On the friendlies: “The friendly was against AEK, and we lost 2-1. Lopes had the chance to try out some things. We still have a friendly against Ermis, which has been rescheduled for Saturday. This gives the coach the opportunity to experiment, but also to build team cohesion.”
On the matches against APOEL and APEA: “We have a game against APOEL. We’ll go there to give it our best; the goal is to win, just like in every game. It’s a difficult task. Our goal is to advance against APEA; we’re awaiting the final decision on when the match will take place.”
