A legally mandated autopsy was performed on the body of the diver who “died” in Ayia Napa, though it did not shed light on the cause of his death.
According to the police, the cause of death of the unfortunate 63-year-old is expected to be determined once the laboratory tests are completed.
It is recalled that at around 3:15 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, while a 63-year-old man from the United Kingdom was diving in the Pernera area of Ayia Napa, he began to feel unwell and was transported to a floating platform.

The diving instructor who was accompanying him, along with lifeguards, administered first aid to the 63-year-old, while an ambulance was called to the scene and transported him to the Famagusta General Hospital, where, despite the doctors’ efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.
The Ayia Napa Police Station is investigating.
