The average rainfall in the unoccupied areas from September 1 through 8:00 a.m. on September 28 reached 180% of the normal amount for the month of September, according to preliminary data released Monday by the Department of Meteorology.
The normal rainfall for the month is 4.5 millimeters, while the average total rainfall recorded since the beginning of the month reached 8.1 millimeters, corresponding to 180% of the normal amount.
Over the past 24 hours, according to the Department’s data, the heaviest rainfall was recorded at Stavros tis Psokas and Saittas, with 3.8 and 3.1 millimeters, respectively, while the total average rainfall amounted to 0.7 millimeters.
As for the total rainfall from February 1 through 8:00 a.m. on February 26, the highest amounts were recorded at Larnaca Airport with 31.8 millimeters (1,871% of normal), in Korno with 31.7 millimeters (556% of normal), in Frenaros with 26 millimeters (2,167% of normal), in Pano Panagia with 19.4 millimeters (373% of normal), and in Saittas with 13.7 millimeters (133% of normal).
