MHV honored the next generation of hospitality professionals and the future leaders of tourism on the occasion of World Tourism Day on September 27. The group organized a symbolic event on September 25 at The Landmark Nicosia, Autograph Collection, and Parklane, A Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Limassol, placing the next generation and the true future of the tourism industry at the heart of this special day.
Through this event, each hotel individually sought to honor all the young men and women studying in the field of tourism and hospitality who hope to find their own path within this exciting industry—young men and women who chose to complete their internships this summer at the iconic The Landmark Nicosia, Autograph Collection, and at the beautiful Parklane, A Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Limassol.
Fourteen ambitious young men and women, all ready to make their mark and build their own futures in the demanding world of tourism and hospitality, chose to complete their internships at MHV’s luxury hotels, in various departments and positions, each making a difference and bringing their passion and dedication to the respective teams and departments of the two hotels.
More specifically, Evangelia Georgiadou, Aikaterini Danou, Zoe Theodoulou, Andreas Charalambous, Athanasios Alexandrou, Konstantinos Christofis, and Radoslav Fotev completed their internships at The Landmark Nicosia, Autograph Collection, while Gabriela Theocharous, Eleni Anaiti, Konstantinos Konstantinou, Michael Andria, Marius-Iulian Himcinschi, and Konstantinos Stylianou completed their internships at Parklane, A Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Limassol.
During the opening remarks, MHV representatives explained the reasoning behind this initiative, saying: “Tourism isn’t just about beautiful destinations, luxury hotels, and memorable experiences. Above all else, tourism is about the people involved. It’s about the people who create these experiences every day—and especially the young people who will shape the future of the industry and ensure its sustainability,” and they concluded with an important message: “Give young people a chance. Give them the opportunity to discover tourism, to experience its essence. Let them understand what this sector has to offer. Let them discover what inspires them. And above all, give them the opportunity to build their own future through tourism. Because the future of hospitality doesn’t start tomorrow. It starts with the young people we support today.”
The fourteen young men and women, along with their teachers and Mr. Pafitis, a representative of the Ministry of Tourism, attended this very special event, and everyone shared their enthusiasm and appreciation for this initiative. Everyone emphasized that this was the first time an organization had taken such an initiative and how much of a positive impact ideas like this can have on the tourism industry, tourism education, and the community as a whole.
The dynamic hospitality group firmly believes in the great importance of linking academic education with practical experience in the hospitality sector, choosing to invest in the next generation, which is undoubtedly the future of the tourism industry. Through this event, MHV executives sought to meet the next generation of professionals, introduce them to the opportunities and possibilities this sector offers, and to create a platform for communication and the exchange of views and experiences.
This initiative is part of the broader CSR and ESG strategy of the hotels and their parent company, which focuses on social responsibility, the development and empowerment of young people, and the creation of new opportunities for the next generation in hospitality and tourism.
Through collaboration with the academic community and by directly connecting young professionals with the industry, MHV aims to develop new talent and shape the future leaders of tourism, while also strengthening the direct link between education and the job market.
MHV proudly welcomed the students and their professors to celebrate World Tourism Day, honoring the young people who represent the future of the industry. The young professionals who worked this summer in various departments at The Landmark Nicosia, Autograph Collection, and Parklane, A Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Limassol, were the honored guests on this very special day.
