LeBron James made an interesting revelation during the Sixers' Media Day regarding the future he had once envisioned for his career, admitting that he had seriously considered the possibility of playing for the New York Knicks and retiring at Madison Square Garden.
At the same time, “The King” expressed his respect for the New York team and praised Jalen Brunson, while making it clear, however, that he is now fully committed to this new chapter of his career in Philadelphia.
Here’s what LeBron had to say:
“I had a vision of playing at Madison Square Garden and finishing my career there. I think it’s the number one arena in the world, as far as a player is concerned. After they beat the Spurs there, I thought, ‘I can’t do this.’ I just couldn’t do it.
I have a lot of respect for the Knicks, obviously. They’re an incredible team with incredible players. “Congratulations to Jalen Brunson. I love that guy—he’s incredible—but I’m happy where I am and I’m looking forward to this.”
