The Swiss national team encountered an unexpected setback during its trip to Glasgow ahead of Tuesday night’s match against Scotland (Sept. 29, 9:45 p.m.).
Specifically, the Swiss team departed from Skopje on Monday morning bound for Scotland, but the aircraft had to make a stop in Zurich to refuel.
According to information from the Swiss Football Association, this was due to an error in calculating the plane’s total weight, resulting in insufficient fuel for a direct flight to Glasgow.
As a result, the delegation had to remain in Switzerland for nearly three hours before continuing its journey, a fact that inevitably led to changes in the schedule of Murat Yakin’s team.
Specifically, the final training session at “Hampden Park” was rescheduled, and there was also a change to the press conference with Yakin and Niko Elvedi, which was rescheduled from 6:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
