There was a strong police presence and activity last night throughout Cyprus, with organized patrols conducted at key locations in urban areas, aimed at preventing serious criminal acts, maintaining public order, and enhancing the public’s sense of security.
These preventive police operations resulted in the arrest of four individuals for various offenses, including illegal employment and traffic violations.
As part of these operations, 556 vehicles were stopped for inspection overnight, and 662 individuals traveling in them were checked. At the same time, 54 inspections were carried out at premises to address violations, resulting in 4 complaints.
During the traffic checks that were conducted, 342 citations were issued for various traffic violations, and 12 cases of traffic violations are currently under investigation.

Of the complaints filed, 106 involved speeding, while 5 vehicles were impounded as part of the police investigations.
A total of 124 breathalyzer tests were conducted, resulting in 10 citations, as well as 3 preliminary drug tests, one of which yielded a positive result.
Law enforcement operations aimed at crime prevention and suppression continue daily, with an increased/reinforced police presence, targeted checks, and immediate operational action, with the aim of increasing citizens’ sense of security, protecting citizens, and ensuring public order.
