Crete is at the mercy of severe weather, with intense weather conditions causing serious problems in several areas of the island. The situation is particularly dire in Mylopotamos, where heavy rainfall has caused flooding and significant damage.
In Zoniana, the large volume of water caused a river to overflow, with floodwaters and debris flooding streets and entering homes and businesses. At the same time, power outages were reported in Zoniana, Anogia, and Axos.

A serious incident occurred in the Diskouri area, where a section of road and a bridge collapsed as a car carrying an elderly couple was passing by. The two passengers were taken to the hospital as a precaution, with no serious injuries reported.
Severe problems have also been reported in Heraklion. In Profitis Ilias, rainfall exceeded 220 millimeters, with large amounts of water and debris creating dangerous conditions on the road network. In Roukani, homes were flooded, and damage was also reported to agricultural facilities.
Due to the danger posed by these conditions, warning messages have been sent via 112 to residents of areas in Crete, with authorities urging citizens to limit or avoid travel in areas where the weather is currently active. Crete has been placed on high alert, as heavy rains and thunderstorms continue to pose a high risk of further flooding and road disruptions.
