Today is a day of celebration for Cyprus, and this sense of pride is accompanied by a great responsibility to protect and preserve our homeland, and to do everything in our power to secure its liberation and reunification, said Anita Dimitriou, Speaker of the House of Representatives and President of DISY, on Thursday.
Speaking after the conclusion of the military parade marking the anniversary of Cypriot independence, in Nicosia, Ms. Dimitriou said that this responsibility means further deepening our strategic partnerships, always in close cooperation with Greece; it means strengthening the National Guard, and our country’s defense and security.

“I can say that today we truly felt proud of the military parade, and congratulations to everyone. We certainly felt the same way about our Greece, which was present in the Cypriot skies. Its support is visible and we feel it, and of course we are delighted by the presence of Greece’s Minister of National Defense at our military parade,” he said.
