Maintenance, upgrade, and improvement work at the Tsireio Sports Center has been completed, with the GSO announcing that all that remains is the Licensing Authority’s decision regarding the return of Karmiotissa and Krasava ENY to the stadium.
From July through today, more than €120,000 has been spent on the necessary work at the facilities, which includes, among other things, the Control and Command Center, the stands, the locker rooms, the playing field, the lighting, the VAR systems, and the security infrastructure.
The final decision will now be made on Friday, October 2.
In detail: “The Olympia Athletic Club (GSO) informs fans, the sports clubs of our city, and the general public that all maintenance, upgrades, and improvements required at the Tsireio Stadium Sports Center during the period from July to September 2026. These works were carried out with the aim of ensuring the safety, functionality, and full readiness of the facilities to host soccer matches.
The GSO is now awaiting the decision of the Licensing Authority, which will meet on Friday, October 2, 2026, with the aim of making Tsirion Stadium available to host matches for the soccer teams of Limassol, Karmiotissa, and Krasava.
It is worth noting that from July 2026 to the present, over €120,000 has been spent from the GSO’s funds on maintenance, upgrading, and improving the facilities at the Tsireio Sports Center, demonstrating in practice the GSO’s commitment to maintaining a safe and functional sports venue for the benefit of its athletes,the visiting teams, and the fans.
For example, the completed work includes:
Complete maintenance and restoration of the Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) system, with 48 cameras and 3 recorders now fully operational.Cleaning, repairs, painting, and maintenance of electrical systems in the West Stand.
Extensive repairs to damage, cracks, and breaks in the East Stand. Maintenance and upgrade of the VIP Lounge (West and East Stands).Installation of safety barriers and improvement of access infrastructure (East Stand). Repair and replacement of emergency exit signs.
Installation of new fencing on the lower level of the East Stand.Repair of the playing field’s irrigation system. Improvement work in the locker rooms, the referees’ room, and the press conference room.Development and updating of the Stadium Evacuation Plan. Restoration of telecommunications, internet, and audiovisual systems.
Work related to the requirements of the VAR system and the new goal-line cameras. Renovation of the broadcast media room.
Maintenance of air conditioning units, restrooms, and other support facilities. Replanting and maintenance of the natural grass turf.
