In a post on his personal WhatsApp channel, Averof Neophytou thanked the thousands of fellow citizens for the messages of support they sent him, expressing a twofold commitment.
The post reads as follows:
“I am moved and inspired by the thousands of messages you send me in every way—fellow citizens from every corner of our Cyprus, expatriates, citizens from across the political spectrum, independents, and, of course, fellow Democratic Rally members.
I have never doubted the pure and selfless spirit of our historic party, the Democratic Rally.
We have walked this path together for the past 50 years—through thick and thin. In times of joy and sorrow. In times of success and failure.
I will never betray you. And we will not allow anyone to betray our shared vision and our plan for our country and our children ever again. And that is my commitment to all my fellow citizens and to society as a whole.”
