After several days of silence, the English Football Association (FA) has commented on the decision by the independent commission that found Manchester City guilty of serious breaches of the Premier League’s financial regulations.
According to the FA, it takes this matter—which undermines the integrity of soccer—very seriously and will take appropriate action, though it did not specify what those actions would be.
The statement:
The Independent Commission’s decision has significant implications for the integrity of the sport. We are carefully reviewing the decision and its implications and will take appropriate action.
As the proceedings between the Premier League and Manchester City are ongoing, we do not intend to make any further comments at this stage. We will, however, continue to closely monitor developments.”
