Another tragedy occurred late Saturday afternoon on the road, when a female driver lost her life in a fatal car accident in Nicosia. Fotini Paschali, 67, from Anthoupoli, lost her life.
According to the police, the collision occurred around 6:45 p.m. While the 67-year-old was driving her car on Sporadon Street, she lost control of the vehicle; after mounting the sidewalk, she struck a retaining wall, where the car came to a stop.

Paschali, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was trapped in the wreckage of her car, and the Fire Department had to intervene to free her. She was then transported by ambulance to Nicosia General Hospital, where the doctor on duty certified her death.
The Nicosia Traffic Police are continuing their investigation.
