Cristiano Ronaldo is preparing to return to Saudi Arabia, with his trip taking place around the same time that Portugal faces Norway in the Nations League.
The Portuguese superstar, who left the national team camp early, is expected to depart Madrid on Sunday aboard his private jet, bound for Riyadh. According to the Portuguese newspaper “A Bola,” the departure is scheduled for 12:50 p.m. Portuguese time, while arrival in Riyadh is expected at 7:44 p.m. local time.
What’s remarkable is that his arrival in Saudi Arabia coincides almost exactly with the kickoff of Portugal’s match against Norway at the “Dragao.” The match is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. Portuguese time.
Ronaldo left Portugal’s training camp following recent developments involving the new national team coach, Jorge Jesus. The 41-year-old forward had been benched in the previous match against Norway, and following the coach’s comments regarding his exclusion from the lineup, he decided to leave the squad.
This development comes at a particularly tense time for Ronaldo’s relationship with the Portuguese national team, as questions remain about his future with the squad.
