A tragedy unfolded on Sunday evening in St. Petersburg when two motorcycles collided, resulting in the death of a 24-year-old man and injuries to two 17-year-old minors.
According to initial reports from the police, the traffic accident occurred on 25th March Street, in the lane heading toward Olympia Street, when a motorcycle driven by a 17-year-old, at the intersection with Kostis Palamas Street, made a left turn and collided—for reasons that remain unclear at this time—with the motorcycle driven by the 24-year-old.
The 24-year-old was fatally injured in the violent collision, while the 17-year-old driver and his 17-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries and were transported to “G. Genimatas.”
Traffic police officers are investigating the exact circumstances under which the accident occurred in order to determine the causes of the accident.
The 17-year-old motorcycle driver was arrested on charges of negligent homicide.
