The Bank of Cyprus Oncology Center is participating again this year in breast cancer awareness campaigns, with two initiatives that highlight the importance of comprehensive care, support, and human connection at every stage of a woman’s journey with breast cancer.
With the central theme “For me, pink means…,” the Center is giving a platform throughout October to 31 of its staff members, who have different roles and specialties. Through short videos, each person completes the phrase based on their own experience and daily life.
For the Center’s staff, the color pink takes on a different meaning through their care for women with breast cancer. It signifies knowledge and expertise, precision in diagnosis and treatment, research, and new therapeutic possibilities. It also signifies guidance, support, and a steadfast presence by every woman’s side.
The 31 videos are being posted throughout the month on the Oncology Center’s social media channels, on Facebook and LinkedIn, bringing together the Center’s shared approach to oncology care through a variety of voices.
At the same time, the Center is creating the “Wall of Hope – Celebrating Life,” a space where patients, visitors, and staff can leave a thought, a wish, or a few words of encouragement for women facing breast cancer. Throughout October, the “Wall of Hope” will be filled with messages of support and solidarity, conveying a simple yet meaningful message: no woman needs to feel alone in facing this disease.
Speaking about this year’s initiatives, the General Manager of the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Center, Mr. Panos Ergatoudis, stated: “Every woman or man diagnosed with breast cancer has unique needs and a different experience. At the Oncology Center, it is our responsibility to stand by our patients at every stage, drawing on scientific knowledge and expertise to offer the most advanced treatment options. Comprehensive oncology care addresses the whole person, and that is the message we want to convey through our initiatives this year.”
These two initiatives reflect the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Center’s approach to oncology care, with the patient at the center and with continuous support from diagnosis and treatment through to the day after.
