Three young men were arrested in the early morning hours in Pagrati following an incident in a common area of an apartment building, during which shots were fired.
Specifically, according to the police, at approximately 12:50 a.m. on Vasileios Laskos Street, a resident of the apartment building heard a commotion and notified the Emergency Response Center. Police officers rushed to the scene, and during their investigation, they found a shell casing and two bullets in the basement, while a handgun was found in the open area.
According to the Hellenic Police, most of the people involved in the incident had left the scene before the police arrived; however, three young men were arrested after climbing onto the roof of the apartment building to escape.
They are an 18-year-old, a 19-year-old, and a 20-year-old who, according to reports, are of Albanian descent and hold Greek identity cards.
Charges of attempted murder were filed against the 19-year-old, while the other two were charged with aiding and abetting.
The Athens Sub-Directorate for Crime Prosecution and Investigation (YDEA) is conducting the preliminary investigation into the case.
