An incident that occurred on Monday night is under investigation: a woman, who is a persona non grata in Israel, boarded a flight to Israel from Larnaca Airport.
According to police sources cited by KYPE, a woman of Georgian origin secured a ticket for a flight to Israel on the evening of Monday, October 4.
The woman proceeded normally through the check-in process and then passed through immigration control. It should be noted that there are no charges against this individual in the Republic of Cyprus; however, it appears that she is a persona non grata in Israel.
Later, during the final stage of the process—namely, boarding, which is supervised by airline staff— the woman appears to have deliberately evaded the check and boarded the aircraft.
During the passenger headcount inside the aircraft, it was discovered that there was one extra passenger. When she was located, the woman was removed by the authorities.
The incident is being investigated by the Civil Aviation Authority.
