There has been a significant development regarding Maccabi Tel Aviv’s home court in the EuroLeague, as the Israeli team is “moving,” barring any dramatic unforeseen circumstances, to Limassol and the “Spyros Kyprianou” Arena.
After the necessary inspections were carried out in the presence of representatives from the KOA, Maccabi, the arena, and the police, the indoor arena in Polemidia was deemed suitable in terms of safety, effectively giving the “green light.”
Now, the ball is in the EuroLeague’s court, as it has requested that certain procedures be carried out to bring the arena into compliance with the league’s standards. However, reports indicate that these are procedural matters; once they are completed and inspected, the Israeli team’s home venue will be finalized.
Ultimately, the goal is for the first match at “Spyros Kyprianou” to take place on October 22 for Matchday 7, when Maccabi will host the tournament’s most successful team, Real Madrid.
