Turkey’s Minister of Education, Yusuf Tekin, announced the death of a schoolgirl who had been taken to the hospital in critical condition following the attack in Istanbul, noting that two more of the eight injured remain in critical condition.

According to local reports, the injured students are between 10 and 13 years old.
Regarding the 15-year-old, Turkish media reported that she has been identified and is a student at the Fahreddin Kerim Gokay High School. “She is currently in custody and being questioned as a suspect in the knife attack she carried out while wearing her school uniform, injuring children indiscriminately around 8:40 a.m. local time,” as reported by Turkish media.
