The fourth round of the EuroLeague kicks off tonight (October 7, 9:45 p.m.), with the lineup featuring an all-French matchup between Paris and Villeurbanne.
After the first three rounds of Europe’s top basketball competition, both teams are near the bottom of the standings, with one win and two losses. The home team got off to a rough start to the season, suffering two losses in as many games against Panathinaikos and Partizan. However, in their most recent game, they pulled off an upset, defeating Zalgiris at home 82-78, and are expected to host the Lyon team with their morale boosted.
There’s good news for Maxime Lefebvre, who will have Frank Nilikina and Terry Tarpey back in the lineup, while Embae and Bungu-Kolo remain sidelined.
On the other hand, Villeurbanne, which began the summer with high expectations but saw its ambitious plans crumble, got off to a positive start to the season with a win over Maccabi Tel Aviv. However, they then suffered two 100-point losses to Valencia and Panathinaikos and came crashing back down to earth.
Tony Parker will be without Dosou-Yovo for yet another game, while Jackson and Washington remain questionable.
