PAOK: Lisi’s roster is filling up ahead of the Kalamata match

On the Way to Kalamata
ALPHANEWSLIVE

The break is now behind PAOK, as the team returns to full competitive mode with its sights set on Monday’s match against Kalamata at Toumba Stadium for Matchday 6 of the Stoiximan Super League. Alessio Lissi is gradually ramping up the intensity in training and hopes to have as many options as possible at his disposal as another demanding stretch of matches begins.

The news on the return front is positive. Pantelis Hatzidiakos and Tom Louche have rejoined the regular training schedule and are providing options in defense and midfield, at a time when the Italian coach is looking to increase competition for spots in the starting lineup. At the same time, the condition of players returning from injuries is being closely monitored to ensure there is no rush and that they return only when they are fully ready.

Another particularly encouraging development is the progress made by Kiril Despodov. The Bulgarian attacking midfielder, after about five months of absence and surgery on his right knee, managed to participate in part of the training session with the rest of the team. This marks the first substantial step in his return to action; while he has not yet participated in high-intensity drills or contact exercises, his presence with the group is a significant sign of progress in his recovery.

Meanwhile, the international players are gradually returning to Thessaloniki, and the coaching staff will assess each player’s condition and workload individually before finalizing the roster. For Lisi, the main priority is for PAOK to be ready to face Kalamata, with more options, greater depth, and as many players as possible available for the resumption of the league.
