The intense feud that has erupted in recent days between Anna Vissi and Nikos Karvelas is not the first difficult moment in their long-standing relationship.
The two artists have written a significant chapter of Greek music history together, but there was a period in the past when they went their separate ways and their collaboration came to a halt.
It was in 2007 when a serious argument created a significant rift between them. Their previously close artistic partnership came to an end, and Anna Vissi had to continue her career without the man whose name was associated with many of her greatest hits.
This period was not an easy one for the singer. Away from Karvelas, she was called upon to try new collaborations and explore different musical paths, during a phase she herself described as particularly difficult and pivotal for her life and career.
This new reality was also reflected in her discography. In December 2008, she released “Apagoreymeno,” an album that held special significance for Vissi’s career, as it did not feature Nikos Karvelas.
