Eight earthquakes, ranging in magnitude from 2.4 to 4.1 on the Richter scale, were recorded from midnight until 10:27 this morning in the Kasos area, according to data from the Geodynamic Institute.
The first occurred at 12:05 a.m., with a magnitude of 3.1 on the Richter scale. The strongest was recorded at 2:43 a.m., with a magnitude of 4.1 on the Richter scale and an epicenter 29 kilometers west of Kasos. Seven minutes later, a 3.9-Richter tremor followed, 35 kilometers west of the island.
Four weaker tremors followed, ranging in magnitude from 2.4 to 2.7 on the Richter scale. The most recent one was recorded at 10:27 a.m., with a magnitude of 3.2 on the Richter scale and an epicenter 22 kilometers west-southwest of Kasos.
The tremors were barely felt by residents, and there were no reports of damage or concern.
