Christos Tsagkalidis has been appointed General Manager of Philip Morris Cyprus. Having led strategic initiatives for Philip Morris International (PMI) at the European and global levels, he assumes his new role by leveraging his international experience in strategy, business transformation, and innovation.
He began his career at PMI in 2018 and has since held positions of strategic and operational responsibility at the company’s headquarters. In his most recent role as Head of Strategy & Program Delivery for Europe (Head of Strategy & Program Delivery Europe), he led initiatives that supported PMI’s transformation and advanced its vision for a smoke-free future. Throughout his tenure at PMI, he helped design and coordinate transformation and operational excellence initiatives in key areas of the company, including finance and corporate affairs, thereby strengthening the execution of its strategic priorities.

Before joining PMI, Mr. Tsagkalidis built a strong professional foundation in business consulting, entrepreneurship, and international business operations across diverse markets and multinational environments. His experience spans change management, digital transformation, operational excellence, and organizational development. His leadership approach combines strategic thinking with a commitment to building high-performing teams and fostering professional growth in a constantly changing business environment.
Christos Tsagkalidis holds an MSc in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and has also studied at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). He also holds an Executive MBA from INSEAD, having studied in France and Singapore.
