Panikos Leonidou proposes the establishment of an Administrative Court in Limassol

What reasons does the DIKO member of parliament cite?

A motion to add an ex officio item to the agenda of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Affairs, proposing the establishment of an Administrative Court in Limassol, DIKO Member of Parliament Panikos Leonidou submitted a motion.

“The current situation, with the Administrative Court operating exclusively in Nicosia, creates additional inconvenience, delays, and financial costs for citizens, businesses, and lawyers from Limassol and Paphos,” the Member of Parliament stated in a written statement.

“Limassol has become one of the country’s most important demographic and economic centers. The decentralization of administrative justice is not a matter of localism. It is a matter of equal access to justice for citizens, better service, and the modern organization of our judicial system.”

“By bringing this issue before Parliament, I aim to substantively open the debate and present the positions and plans of the Ministry of Justice, the Judicial Service, and the relevant agencies,” he continues.

“The justice system must be close to the citizens. The establishment of an Administrative Court in Limassol is a well-considered, reasonable, and fair step in that direction.”
