Ivan Savvidis continues to be closely involved in PAOK’s day-to-day operations, making an appearance once again at the Nea Mesimvria training facility.
The president of the “black-and-white” PAOK FC was back at the training center, where he watched up close as Alessio Lisi’s team went through their training session, at a time when his presence in Thessaloniki is marked by constant meetings and discussions regarding the soccer department, and during his visit to the training center today, he held separate one-on-one meetings with both the Italian coach and the team’s players.
After all, this isn’t the first time recently that Ivan Savvidis has been in Nea Mesimvria. His frequent presence alongside the team also reflects his direct involvement in matters concerning PAOK’s day-to-day operations, even as decisions have already been made regarding personnel changes and role adjustments within the club.
The president of the “black-and-white” PAE wanted to send a clear message looking ahead, reiterating the two major goals for this season.
“I’m always by your side—you know that—and always remember the goals we have. We want to win the league and play in the Champions League. I truly believe in you; I believe in the team, and I feel that together we can achieve this. “I want you to believe it, too,” he said, among other things, while also announcing that if the goals are achieved, there will be substantial bonuses for the team.
The PAOK president also placed special emphasis on the resumption of the league, asking everyone not to underestimate Monday’s match against Kalamata at Toumba. He stressed that no one has the right to consider any game an easy one and asked the players to take the field every time with the right mindset, ready to fight for the three points.
On the field, the news was encouraging for Lissi. Giannoulis, Elustondo, and Costa trained normally with the rest of the group, stepping up their intensity even further after the injury issues they’d faced, while Despodov participated in part of the session.
The training session was demanding and included possession drills, finishing exercises, and tactical work in two groups, with the focus subsequently shifting to offensive tactics.
The session concluded with a small-sided game, as PAOK continues its preparations for the match against Kalamata at Toumba (October 12, 6:00 p.m.).
