Giorgos Bartzokas commented on the incident at the end of the game against Bologna.
During Olympiacos’ media day, the Greek coach gave his own account of what happened with the home team’s players after the final buzzer.
He responded specifically:
“I didn’t move; I was standing still in one spot, watching the final play. I wouldn’t say it was disrespectful on the players’ part, because they were celebrating, and the first two aren’t to blame—it was just a commotion that ensued with the rest of them, who didn’t realize I was there too.
I don’t think the guys did it on purpose; they just bumped into me, and I pushed them away. It was just a reaction. Of course, I heard that an attempt was made to press charges against me for assault. So it will be interesting to see what happens.”
